How I Started As Travel Influencer

I have always traveled, but at the top of the year I embarked on my journey of curating content while traveling. I know influencers make it seem easy by just taking pictures, but honestly it’s way more than I thought it was. But the reward is worth it, now I am a fairly new travel influencer with six months under my belt.

In those six months I have been able to collab with 4 international hotels/resorts and 5 domestic hotels. I initially started with signing up on a site that connects influencers with hotels for promotion which I later found 4 other sites that also does the same. Which under the products tab you can purchase the influencer apps & sites which includes over 20 sites that connect influencers to brand deals. You don’t even have to pitch yourself, you get to work with major brands which is why I love it so much.

My more recent international hotel collabs I have worked with I started to pitch them myself straight in the dms. I made a Media Kit, e-mail pitch template and a DM pitch template. And if the resort or hotel respond they usually provide the email of the person that is over influencer collaborations or marketing.

So I usually ask for 3 nights with a plus one with daily breakfast if it’s not an all inclusive resort. If the resort has excursions or a restaurant on site I usually ask for dinner for two for one night with two drinks a piece and an excursion. I also have a template of agreed posts or content that I will pitch but sometimes I’m flexible depending on the place.

Some companies will offer a discount stay depending on the place and location sometimes I will agree but I won’t offer as much content or posts because I have to stay. If they offer a discount always try to negotiate the price.

So these tips should help you as a beginner travel influencer.
