5 Tips To Country Hopping

Country hopping isn’t expensive as much people think it is, long as you researched properly. I made quite a few mistakes country hopping and it definitely cost me some money. So if you follow some of these tips it could save you a few hundred plus dollars 😩😩😩!

The first thing you want to do is throughly research each country you plan on going to visit. You also have to decide what’s your budget or price range you want to stay in for each country. That will determine a lot when it comes to housing, food, activities etc. When I’m traveling solo on country hopping I look for affordable housing but something still nice. I like to get something in the city and walking distance to restaurants or possible to public transportation if I plan on using while I’m in that country.

  1. Make sure you research the entry requirements for the country you are traveling to while country hopping. Each country has different requirements for different citizens no matter what country you are visiting. That would include visas, transit visas, Covid related specific tests, vaccinations and shot records. Some times you will have to take Covid tests at clinics in other countries while traveling. I lost a lot money by not properly researching which country take specific Covid tests and not having a transit visa to some countries when changing airlines during my layovers. They don’t play when it comes down to that stuff .

  2. When country hopping you don’t necessarily have to know what all countries you plan on visiting while traveling. Long as you know where you want to start, your final stop and the date you want to head back home. Because while country hopping so many things change frequently it’s better to purchase a ticket while you’re out there especially if the places are close in range. Also you might find a great flight ticket to another country that wasn’t even on your schedule but it’s a place you always wanted to go. But if you one of those travelers that don’t like to go with the flow then you probably should just buy your flights ahead of time and stay on your strict schedule, lol.

  3. I wouldn’t suggest buying your tours or excursions before arriving to the city. Anything can happen so you might not make it to the city, it might be too far from your hotel/Airbnb, you might change your mind or just a numerous of things that can happen. The tours prices stay the same so booking when arriving to the country is better. I would suggest purchasing on website in case something happens you can receive your money back. But if you purchase from a local always try to negotiate prices or at least have them price match the website .

  4. Make sure you research things to do from happy hours, night life, the famous tourist attractions, things to do in that country. Even if you aren’t a big itinerary person you still want to have a plethora of things you can choose from to do while you’re there so you can have some type of idea of things you could do.

  5. Check the money currency exchange to that country. Check to see if they take your currency locally. You always want to check and check and see if this country typically only take cash over credit cards
